This notice explains what personal information Maths Path Tutoring collects, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law.
Who I am
Maths Path Tutoring is run by Eleftheria Bourtzinakou, a sole trader, who is responsible for the personal information described here (the data controller). You can contact me at mathspathtutoring@gmail.com.
What this website collects
This website has no contact forms, analytics, advertising, embedded content or chat widgets, and it does not set cookies for visitors. Fonts and images are served from the site itself.
The web host keeps short-term server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) to keep the site secure. These are deleted automatically by the host.
When you email me
If you email me, I receive your name, email address and anything you choose to include. This is often information about your child, such as their school year, what they find difficult, and sometimes learning needs such as dyscalculia or maths anxiety.
I use this only to reply to you, to discuss whether I can help, and, if you decide to go ahead, to arrange and deliver tutoring and send progress updates.
Lawful basis
- Replying to your enquiry and providing tutoring: taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing that contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Information about a child’s health or learning needs is special category data. I only record it with your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
- Keeping financial records: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
Who has access to your information
I do not sell your information or use it for marketing. It is held only by providers who process it on my behalf:
- Email: Google (Gmail).
- Web host: Bluehost.
Google may process email data outside the UK. These transfers are protected by safeguards approved under UK law.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries and tutoring notes: for as long as they are needed to support the student. I will delete them at any time if the student asks, or a parent or guardian asks if the student is under 18.
- Financial records: for as long as HMRC requires (currently at least 5 years after the 31 January Self Assessment deadline for the relevant tax year).
Your rights and complaints
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to how it is used, or to receive a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email mathspathtutoring@gmail.com. There is no charge, and I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
